Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is a national level examination which will be conducted to provide admissions in various undergraduate engineering courses in IIT’s, NIT’s and IIIT’s.

NTA has begun with registration for April JEE Main 2020. At present, my Twitter & Youtube feed is filled with videos and articles about tips for JEE Mains 2020. I am writing this to wish you all the best of luck for this period of back to back exams, and the pressure that comes with. Over 9 lakh students had applied for the January session. If you are among those thousands of students who could not make it through the JEE Main (January), do not lose heart as there are many forts one can still conquer to achieve your dream degree by appearing in JEE Main 2020 April Session. Several January exam top scorers are also planning to apply for the April session. While there are chances to improve your individual score, it is difficult to get the top ranks as the marking is based on the performance of other candidates.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) is a national level examination which will be conducted to provide admissions in various undergraduate engineering courses in IIT’s, NIT’s and IIIT’s. Before filling the application form candidates will have to satisfy themselves with the eligibility criteria that they are eligible for the paper which they are applying for. NTA has prescribed no age limit to apply for JEE Main 2020. However, candidates must qualify their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 5 subjects. JEE Main appearing candidates must have passed class 12th with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject with 50%.

For admission to NIT’s, IIIT’s and CFTI’s, candidates should secure a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST students) in the qualifying examination or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by respective boards.

A student preparing for IIT JEE remains curious about the JEE Main sample/test papers. Student needs to go through with the previous question papers in details. Also, you can try the sample questions offered by various sites. The basic funda to clear the exam is to follow a proper IIT JEE study plan. This will help you cover all the syllabus within defined timeframes. 

JEE Mains is a difficult exam and you need to have your hands sorted with the previous year question papers. The day by day progress on your question papers. The day by day progress on your question-solving strategy can get you the decent marks in the main exam. As you know the paper consists of 90 questions with a tight timeline of 3 hours. So distribute your time to different subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths properly. For this, you must have a clear idea about the whole syllabus and the weightage of different topics. What you can do is to have a look at the mark weightage y topics. This way you will be able to know which topic is important and give more attention and which to devote less. 

Candidates can follow the path suggested by some of the top 10 IIT JEE coaching institutes, then consist of preparation of 8-9 hours including practice and sample paper. So make the routine of practicing each subject slot wise. If you are appearing for the first time, it’s obvious to have pressure. But keep patience and make the progress steadily. You will soon be able to reach your target.

And one more important thing I wanted to talk to you guys was don’t lose hope if you don’t perform well. Things will work out, just don’t give up hope nothing is too difficult. Take out time to breathe fresh air. Meditate and eat healthily. Focus on the exam, and not on how you’ll celebrate after it’s done.
